Make your first fulfillment test count.
A practical framework for evaluating a sample order, packaging, handoffs, and exceptions before scaling.
Start with a small, agreed scope
Choose the product variant, destination, packaging, and order workflow you want to evaluate. Record which parts are being tested and which remain outside the test. A successful single shipment is useful evidence, but it does not guarantee every future delivery.
Observe the handoffs
Look at how order data is received, how product variants are identified, and how dispatch information is returned. For a Shopify or WooCommerce store, test the actual workflow that has been agreed rather than assuming an integration is already available.
Inspect the arrival experience
Review the product condition, protective materials, labels, and contents against the agreed specification. Keep observations specific. If something differs from the sample or brief, document the difference and ask how it would be addressed.
Agree how exceptions will work
Discuss incorrect items, damaged packaging, failed delivery, and tracking questions before a broader rollout. Record responsibilities and the information needed to investigate an issue. Use the findings to refine the plan.
